Armando Mariante Carvalho
Armando Mariante Carvalho, born in Rio de Janeiro of 1948, Chemical Engineer from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro [UFRJ], with Master's Degree in Production Engineering from Pontifical University of Rio de Janeiro [PUC/RJ] and Business Administration from London Business School. Joined BNDES in 1972, as an internship. By the year of 1985, held the position of Manager, Chief of Department and Superintendent, when BNDES transferred him to work for FAO, in Rome, having been there for three years. In February of 1999, after holding several positions in the private enterprise, he returned to BNDES as a Superintendent-Director of Finame, having been there until March of 2000, when he assumed the presidency of the Brazilian Institute of Industrial Quality, Standardization and Metrology [Inmetro], having been there until December of 2004. In that month, he was invited by the Minister Guido Mantega, returned to BNDES and assumed the board responsible for the industrial and foreign trade areas. In April of 2006, he assumed the BNDES Vice-Presidency.
