Financing for the export of goods and services in two
different categories:
Pre-shipment: finances the production made by internationally competitive companies established under Brazilian
laws;
Post-shipment:
finances the trade of goods and services abroad, through the refinancing of the exporter, or through the buyer's credit category, in accordance with international standards.
The guarantee instruments available are the same offered by export credit agencies (ECA's) in order to facilitate access to export credit.
For instance, the transaction may include Export Credit Insurance as a guarantee, that enables the coverage of commercial, political and extraordinary risks involved. In Brazil, this instrument is operated by private insurance companies in the short run and by the Federal Government in the long run.
Also, recourse may be made to foreign banks that provide international guarantees for financing operations.
The transactions are structured in accordance with the Operational Policies of BNDES.
