Support to Imports of Machinery and Equipment
Purpose

Financial support to imports of new machinery and equipment, without domestic similar, to the industrial sector (sections B and C of the National Classification of Economic Activities [CNAE 2.0]. 

The Beneficiary should confirm to BNDES the inexistence of similarity, through an authenticated copy of the National Similar Inexistence report, issued by the Department of Foreign Trade Operations [Decex], Foreign Trade Secretary [Secex], linked to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade [MDIC].

The equipment and machinery object to financing should be imported in name of the beneficiary, not being subject to support those already nationalized. 


Non-financeable items

It is not subject to support the imports of: 

- moving equipment destined to transport of any nature, including cargo moving, construction, paving and farming, including chassis and bodies; and 

- bank automation equipment. 

The working capital associated to the installation of imported equipment is not subject to financing. 


Financing limit

The amount financed per company may not exceed the equivalent in Brazilian reais to US$ 3 million at each 12 months.  


Modality of support

Direct or indirect.


Interest Rate

For direct support: Financial cost + BNDES fee + Credit risk rate 

For indirect support: Financial cost + BNDES fee + Financial intermediation rate + Accredited financial institution fee 

Financial Cost
Variation of the Monetary Unit of BNDES (UMBNDES) or the Variation of the North American Dollar, plus Currency Baskets's charges.

BNDES Fee (Direct and Indirect Operation)
1.8% p.a. Not applied to eventual reductions of fees granted to foreign currency financings.  

Credit Risk Rate
Up to 3.57% p.a. (according to the beneficiary's risk).  

Accredited Financial Institution Fee
Negotiated between the accredited financial institution and the client. 

Financial Intermediation Rate
0.5% p.a. 

Note: Micro, small and medium enterprises' operations are exempt of the financial intermediation rate.


Share level

Up to 60% of FOB (Free on Board) value.


Time period

Up to 60 months.
