» Innovative Capital Facility– Focus on the Company

Purpose: Support companies to develop capabilities to undertake innovative activities on a regular basis. This includes investments in tangible capitals, including physical infrastructure, and intangible capitals (*). Such Investments must be consistent with the companies’ business strategies and be presented as per the Innovation Investment Plan model (PII).

(*) Intangible asset, identifiable without physical substance and used to supply goods and services, provided that: It is controlled by the company and from which future economic benefits are expected for the company – as set forth in the International Accounting Standard 38, 1998.

Types of Financial Support: Direct.

Products: FINEM and subscription of securities. Financial support is given through FINEM (Project Financing), subscription of securities or both (mixed facility).

Minimum financial support: R$ 1 million. As for mixed facilities, the minimum amount of R$ 1 million must be understood as the sum of the amount applied by each financial instrument.

Maximum financial support: R$ 200 million per business group, every 12 months, through FINEM. For applications exceeding this amount, the difference may be funded through subscription of securities.

Interest Rate: Financial Cost + BNDES Basic Spread + Credit Risk Rate

• Financial Cost: Long-Term Interest Rate - TJLP
• BNDES Basic Spread: 0.0% per annum. 
• Credit Risk Rate: up to 3,57% per annun, as per risk assessment.

Note: In the operations performed with MPMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Sized Businesses), the Credit Rate is 0%.

Maturity: up to 12 years.

Share Level: up to 100% of financeable items. 

Minimum financial support: R$ 200 million per business group, every 12 months. Applications exceeding this amount, the difference may be funded through variable income.

Collaterals: set in the operation analysis. See also: Collaterals. At BNDES discretion, funding of exhibits (not exceeding R$ 10 million) are not required to present collaterals, per business group, excluding securities subscription operations.

Items that may be support on an exceptional basis: BNDES may, at its sole discretion, provide support to software produced abroad, at expenses requiring foreign currency remittances, import of equipment not produced in Brazil, with relevant evidence being produced, provided that these are registered at PII (Innovation Investment Plan) and the companies’ strategy. Financial support to buildings is also allowed, provided that such buildings are directly related to R&D activities, not performed on a single basis.

Addressing: Financial support requests are to be submitted to BNDES through an Inquiry Letter – filled up as defined in Previous Inquiry Information - Capital Inovador Facility (Innovation Investment Plan – PII), sent by the company to:

» Technological Innovation - Focus on Project

Purpose: support technology projects aiming at the development of new or significantly improved products and/or processes (at least for the domestic market) involving technology risk and market opportunities.

Type of Financial Support: Direct.

Products: FINEM and securities subscription. Financial support is given through FINEM (Project Financing), subscription of securities or both (mixed facility).

Minimum financial support: R$ 1 million. As for mixed facilities, the minimum amount of R$ 1 million must be understood as the sum of the amount applied by each financial instrument.

Interest Rate: 4,5% per annum.

Maturity: up to 14 years.

Share Level: up to 100% of financeable items.
