The Operational Policies of BNDES direct and normalize the concession of financing by establishing criteria so as to prioritize projects that promote development with social inclusion, stimulating thus undertakings that create jobs and income, and also contributing to the generation of foreign currency in accordance to the directions of the Federal Government.
The Financial Support reproduces the specifications of the Operational Policies of BNDES and reflects the basic conditions and BNDES' diverse support forms. In February 2006, a new Operational Policy that aims at making BNDES' priorities clearer and reducing the financial costs of its loans was approved. These conditions are already in force for direct operations (operations performed directly with BNDES), and under normalization phase for
automatic indirect operations (operations performed through
Accredited Financial
Institutions). During this phase, the automatic indirect support will continue to be operated according to previous specifications.
Within its condition of financial institution, BNDES uses banking criteria for the concession of financing, and it follows the legislation, norms and resolutions that regulate public financial institutions, being therefore audited by the Federal Audit Court - [TCU].
