Guido Mantega
Graduated in economics from the School of Economics and Administration of Universidade de São Paulo, Guido Mantega was a professor of economics in the School of Business Administration of Fundação Getúlio Vargas since 1981.
He has doctoral degree in Sociology of the Development from the School of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters of Universidade de São Paulo, with specialization in the Institute of Development Countries (IDS) of University of Sussex, England, in 1977.
Professor of Economics in the master and doctoral degree courses of Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo - PUC-SP from 1984 to 87. Director of Budget and Head of the Office of the Municipal Department of Planning of São Paulo, from 1982 to 1992.
Member of the Coordination of the Economic Program for the Brazilian Labor Party (PT) in the presidential elections of 1984, 1989 and 1998, and Economic Advisor of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva since 1993 and one of the coordinators of the PT's Economic Program for the campaign 2002.
He has published dozens of articles in magazines, such as Revista de Economia Política, Estudos CEBRAP and Teoria em Debate.

Guido Mantega was born in Genoa, Italy, on April 7, 1949. He was Minister of Planning, Budget, and Administration until November 18, 2004, when he has been appointed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to occupy the position of BNDES' President.
