» BNDES signs off R$ 174m financing for roads in São Paulo
The concessionaire Rodovias Integradas do Oeste - SPVIAS, of São Paulo, was conferred a R$ 174.4 million financing for investments in the road system of Lot 20 (SP-270, SP-258, SP-255, SP- 127 and SP- 280), from 2007 to 2011, comprising a 53-kilometer duplication and other improvements. The BNDES financing corresponds to 60% of total investments, R$ 290.7 million.
Lot 20 road system, which is part of the network connecting Tatuí, Araçoiaba da Serra, Espírito Santo do Turvo, Avaré, Itapetininga, Capão Bonito, Itapeva and Itararé, covers 53 cities out of the 70 cities located in the southeast of São Paulo and serves a population of about 1 million people.
Comprehending the road connecting São Paulo and Paraná, the SPVIAS system also gives access to the South region ports and brings economic benefits to areas outside of the concession.
Duplication of many stretches of the road network enhancing services, creating several two-level accesses and providing new bus stops are among the project virtues.
The SPVIAS is headquartered in the Southeast region of São Paulo State. The controlling group is formed by the Planova Planejamento e Construções; Multivias Participações; Latinoamericana de Rodovias Participações e Empreendimentos; Vialco Construção e Participações, CCI Concessões; NF Motta Construções; Serve Serviços Gerais; and Construtora Coveg companies.
The granting power is São Paulo State, represented by the Road Transport Department – SP (Departamento de Estradas de Rodagem). The concession agreement was signed in February 2000.
