Grounding on available data, the projection is that BNDES Card will release to the end of 2008 total of R$ 820 millions

History - Issued by accredited financial institutions (currently, Caixa Econômica Federal, Banco do Brasil and Bradesco), BNDES Card is a pre-approved revolving credit facility, whose operations are automatically performed via the website
www.cartaobndes.gov.br.
Created to finance capital gods to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, since 2006, BNDES Card has been including in its portfolio some industrial inputs processed by small-sized enterprises in order to transform these inputs into goods with higher added value.
Since September 2008, services of certification, conformity inspection, calibration, and laboratory tests have also been financed, as long as these services are provided by entities accredited before INMETRO. BNDES is also providing registration services for hospitals and other health institutions which are in compliance with standards recognized by ANS (the Brazilian Health Agency).
Currently, there are 10 thousand suppliers registered, making available more than 96 thousand of financeable items. Making available an average disbursement of R$ 15 thousand per operation distributed among 27 States countrywide, BNDES Card represents the democratization of access to BNDES loans. A total of 150 thousand cards have been issued (97% of them for micro and small-sized enterprises), having pre-approved credit limits that pre-amount R$ 4,6 billion.
