Social Investments by Enterprises
» Purpose

Support to projects destined to implementation, expansion and consolidation of social investment projects and programs made by enterprises or in partnership with public institutions or nonprofit associations. 


» Projects Subject to Support

Social investment projects or programs aiming at increasing the business social responsibility level, directed to the articulation and strengthening of public policies developed in different federative levels. 

The social investments, bound or not bound to economic projects, should be directed to the following group of actions:

Ambit of Enterprises: internal or corporate environment - actions where the targeted public are the enterprise's employees and their dependents or relatives, employees from suppliers of inputs, materials and services, or clients; 

Ambit of the Community: 

- External environment with local and microregional influence - actions having as targeted public the populations located in communities around or in areas of geographic influence by the enterprises; 

- Macrosocial environment - actions benefiting segments of the national population, not directly associated to business initiatives or to their areas of influence, aiming at adding efforts to social public programs and policies. 



» Financeable Items

Civil works destined to installation, expansion, reformation and other improvements; 

Acquisition of machinery, equipment and permanent materials; 

Technical specialized services, information technology and capacitation; 

Development, dissemination and reapplication of social technologies improving public policies.   


» Non-Financeable Items

Social actions and projects receiving fiscal incentives; 

Actions of legal and obligatory nature; 

Training related to business activities; 

Acquisition of land and other real estate; 

Actions associated to trading and competitive performance or to direct development of the consumption market; 

Actions of institutional marketing bound to causes and campaigns; 

Costing and maintenance of additional activities and benefits directed to employees, of permanent nature and that may be characterized as human resources policy, such as: health plans, social security, insurance, allowances for housing, education, among others. 


» Types of Financial Support

BNDES direct operation, regardless of the financing amount, following the forms below:

Social subcredit bound to the financing of a productive project; 

Specific financing agreement for a social investment project or program.

BNDES Spread 
For projects in the ambit of Community: 0.0 % (priority AA) 

For projects in the ambit of Enterprises: 0.9 % (priority A)


» Maturity

Up to 96 months, including grace period of up to 24 months.


» Share Level

For projects in the range of Community: Up to 100% 

For projects in the range of Enterprise: 

- Up to 100% for projects in Northern and Northeastern Low Income Cities or Lower Average Income Cities (within SUDENE’s field of activity)
- Up to 90% for projects in Northern and Northeastern Lower Average Income Cities and High Income Cities (within SUDENE’s field of activity) or Low Income Cities or Lower Average Income Cities from the other regions of the country
- Up to 80% for projects in other cities 


» Addressing

The supporting applications are addressed to BNDES by means of a Consultation-Letter - completed in accordance with the directions in the Guide on Information for Previous Consulting - sent by the interested enterprise, to:

The schedule should contain a summary of the main social actions already developed by the enterprise and include a description and contextualization of the enterprise's social aspects and the relevant social impacts arising from implementation of the project.
