Graduated in Data Processing Technology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro(PUC-Rio), with a graduate degree in Accounting, Finance and Control from Fundação Getulio Vargas (RJ) and completed the Program for Management Development from Harvard Business School.

Throughout his career, Ricardo Barros was member of the Advisory Board at Brasil Telecom, Opportrans Concessão Metroviária, Santos Brasil, Telemig Celular, Amazônia Celular, and Vale, where he was also a member of the Fiscal Council and Auditing Committee.

He was managing director at the Special Secretariat of Denationalization, Disinvestment and Market of the Ministry of Economics, was chief financial officer (CFO) of Ageo Terminals, CFO and CEO of Geo Eventos, Human Resources director of Claro, managing director of CVC/Opportunity, investment analyst at Previ and held several positions at Banco do Brasil.
