The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) announces that it obtained an A1+ ESG rating from Vigeo Eiris (V.E), the top rating on the agency’s scale. Vigeo Eiris is a rating agency associated with Moody’s that evaluates the performance of organizations according to environmental, social and governance criteria (ESG). The score of 64 places the Bank in the 86th position, among 4,913 companies evaluated worldwide, and in the 4th position among 848 companies in emerging markets.
V.E highlights the advanced integration of ESG factors into investment and lending activities carried out by the Bank, the use of international standard systems to prevent discrimination and promote careers within its staff and the use of comprehensive efforts to prevent corruption and mitigate money-laundering risk in its activities as BNDES’s strengths.
