BNDES supports 13th edition of Rio Festival
The BNDES supports Rio Festival 2011, an event in the audiovisual sector that begins October 6 and continues until October 18 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The exhibition, which is now in its 13th edition, will open with a gala presentation of film “La piel que habito”, of the Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar.

Brazil: EUR 500 million loan for Climate Change mitigation projects
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing a EUR 500 million loan to the BNDES of Brazil for projects in the renewable energy sector supporting climate change mitigation. The objective of this operation is to support investments that generate environmental benefits with respect to combating climate change.

BNDES Card reaches 1 million contracted operations
On October 5, the BNDES Card, a credit line that supports micro, small and medium-sized companies (MSMEs), reached the mark of 1 million operations carried out since its launch in 2003. In this year alone, it is estimated that more than 500,000 operations will be held, with a disbursement of R$ 7.5 billion.

BNDES approves R$ 396.5 million for the Construction of Arena das Dunas Stadium (RN)
The BNDES has approved a loan in the amount of R$ 396.5 million for the construction of the Arena das Dunas Stadium in Natal, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, one of the venues for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The funds amount to 75% of the cost of the project, according to the ceiling established by the BNDES ProCopa Arenas program, under which the operation was approved.
