BNDES approves R$ 6.6 million project from the Amazon Fund to the Ashaninka Indigenous People in Acre
The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) approved a R$ 6.6 million loan operation with resources from the Amazon Fund to the Ashaninka Association in the Amônia River. This is the first project directly conceived and submitted to the Amazon Fund by an indigenous community with no public sector or NGO intermediation.

Amazon Fund surpasses R$ 1 billion in approved projects
The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has surpassed the milestone of R$ 1 billion in operations approved to receive resources from the Amazon Fund. The milestone was reached on December 2014 and corresponds to a sum approved since 2009, when the Fund first started its activities.

BNDES approves four new projects and ends 2014 with a R$ 6.6 billion record investment in wind farms
The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) ended 2014 with R$ 6.6 billion in investment approvals for new wind power projects, equivalent to 2,585.8 MW of installed power, thus helping place Brazil among the five largest global investors in both wind power and renewable power in general.
