BNDES extends the support program to renew and develop new sugarcane fields until December
The BNDES’ Support Program to Renew and Develop New Sugarcane Fields (BNDES Prorenova) was extended to December 31 and will have a R$ 4 billion allocation. Launched in early 2012, the BNDES Prorenova is aimed at encouraging the production of sugarcane by financing the renewal of old sugarcane fields and expanding the cultivated area.

BNDES approves R$ 5.4 billion in financing for Oi
The BNDES has approved R$ 5.4 billion in financing for the Oi Group, earmarked for the 2012-2014 investment plan. The project includes investments to expand and improve the installed capacity of the data access network, land-line and mobile, as well as the infrastructure of cable TV, besides investments in information technology.

BNDES and BM&FBOVESPA present new portfolio for Carbon Efficient Index
The BNDES and the BM&FBOVESPA have defined the new theoretical portfolio for the Carbon Efficient Index (ICO2), which will be effective from January 7 to May 3, 2013, based on the trading floor closing on January 4, 2013. The portfolio comprises 36 shares from 35 companies.

BNDES approves R$ 2.4 billion for new Fiat plant in Pernambuco
The BNDES has approved R$ 2.4 billion in financing to build a new Fiat car plant, with a capacity of 250,000 units per year, in the municipality of Goiana (PE). In addition to the new production unit, the project entails installing an engine plant, a testing area, a suppliers’ network to develop new vehicles, and social investment in the local community.
